No. They probably could get a better house in a nicer area for a lot less cost in New Jersey but their job is still in New York. Look at the evening rush hour traffic of NY workers heading back to NJ and you will see it is a popular choice.

Hey, my ex lives in NY and works in NJ. 4 trains to get there, and 2 hours of time. Up at 5 and home at 7:30 pm. Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$s.

No it's not stupid. The cost of living in NYC is huge. It's cheaper to commute across the river and stay in Jersey.

New Jersey and New York are so close maybe its better to live in New Jersey.

In NJ you get a lot of land and privacy when compared to NY City. Also NJ is a couple of miles away from NJ City so can take a short ferry ride to NY City.
