People survived without agriculture or indoor plumbing for thousands of years too. We adapt our technology to fit our society and then our society adapts to the technology...round and round we spiral on...

Because people rely on these things to get their information from.
People were also hunting animals for their dinner a thousand years ago.... things have changed a lot.

because it connects the world....a very large community and we are social creatures.....the knowledge we can be glean now is wondrous....to be away from that is to be thrown into a form of darkness

My guess is that we're getting too dependent on them for news, informantion and communication.
