people don't understand that the civil war was not about slavery. It had nothing to do with racism or hatred. It was simply to keep the country together.

Who cares what they think. Be proud of your heritage and by the way, you have a right to be a racist if you want to just like they have their rights to be and do all the things that we see out there in the real world.
Freedom = some ppl getting offended

If you live in the south then many people of different races support the flag, but people that aren't from the south don't. I could go on and on. Too sleepy. There are people of different race around me that fly the flag. ....

I don't know why people think that because the Stars and Bars has so much more meaning than that! I have a big sticker on the back of my car window... the south shall rise again.

It is possible you love a symbol of racism not because you are racist, but because you don't care that you love a symbol of racial supremacy. But I wonder who would proclaim love for something that marks one as a racist, and not care that he was thought racist, except a racist,

if you won the war, then you probably wouldnt be friends with your hispanic and black friends right now. be thankful we (the north) did. and i dont think your racist. its cool that you like the south. i respect that. but generally the confederate flag is a sign of racism.

Most people don't realize that it is not about hate, it is about heritage.
They are Historically stupid when trying to be politically correct.
The war was about states rights, not slavery. Slavery did not become a issue until mid war. It was needed as a rallying point to keep the North interested in fighting

I don't know but I fly the stars and bars at my home and proudly display it on my license plate. I'm proud of my southern background and I wish people would understand that the confederate flag stands for the south now. I think you should ignore people and their crude stares because they don't understand.

Why are you so hooked up on this? You don't seem racist to me. You seem anti- American. You can fly your southern flag all you like ~ good for you. But I love my country, and I love the American flag ~ and that's what I fly.
