Actually, humans and elephants are not the longest living mammals.....

Excerpt from Wikipedia....
Bowhead whales are thought to live up to 200 years, with a few individuals found to have century-old harpoons embedded in their blubber.

The lifespan of a bowhead was once thought to be 60 to 70 years, similar to other whales. However, discoveries of antique ivory spear points in living whales in 1993, 1995 and 1999 have triggered further research based on structures in the whale's eye, leading to the reliable conclusion that at least some individuals have lived to be 150–200 years old (another report has said a female at the age of 90 was allegedly still reproductive). [3] Because of their possible life span, female bowhead whales are believed to go through menopause. Observations of very large animals without calves support this hypothesis.

Homo sapiens sapiens have the longest life span out of all the mammals on earth, atleast out of the mammals we've discovered.

I've read that a lot of sex could cut your life span. Inference made by a study on queen ants... The ommune system gets weak after sex.

... among mammals, " ... primates are the longest lived group and man is the longest lived of the primates: 122 years (Jeanne Louise Calment, 1875 - 1997)."

Interesting question.

The Tortose or Turtle will live the longest because they are constantly rebuilding new cells until the day they die...Avg life span is usually anywhere from 100 to over 200 years of age.

Usually the bigger they are the longer they live so I am guessing an elephant or a whale (but that is just a guess - it could turn out to be some person's grandfather instead).
