Buy what you like and what you can afford to pay for in cash, not credit. Don't worry about keeping it for a lifetime. A lifetime is a long time. You will change, your lifestyle will change, your place of residence will change, and if you ever have kids they'll throw up on everything you own anyway.

If you really want quality, the best place to put your money is in your mattress. A comfortable, peaceful night's rest is priceless.

I'm not too familiar with the brands but I can tell you would you could do. Whatever furnature store you go to, just look for soldid wood furnature. Beds...make sure they are soldi and heave (so the don't rock back and forth). There is no brand that is the best. And dont succum to just buying something because of the brand. You will probably be spending too much of your money if you do. Dont be afraid to look and discounted furnature they will have available. Its usually because of nicks and scratches. But it doesnt matter because its solid wood! It it will be 100s of dollars cheaper. Good luck!

I would not worry about a name brand, most have been bought out by companies making cheaper stuff and still using the brand name. The style that is most enduring and endearing is antique looking solid framed furniture, but you have to be comfortable with the style.

I keep my furniture a maximum of 15 years then give it away
