"The war on terror is a test of our strength, a test of our capabilities, and above all a test of our character," Cheney said.

"We know that the hopes of the civilized world ride with us. Our cause is right, it is just and this nation will prevail," Cheney added.

And yet they want to fight it in secret and rewrite the geneva convention......
Thank the heavens that we only have 2 more years of dick and bush cuz I am tired of watching the American people being screwed and lied to

what miffs me is that as a so-called civilized nation we should not imitate the terrorists. When we do not hold individuals responsible for their individual actions but instead clump those of similar ethnicity or religious beliefs together and hold the group responsible we lower ourselves to the level of the terrorists.

Vengance is not for you or I to dictate. Justice is not vengence. Those terrorists that hijacked the planes DIED. The rest of the terrorists -do they fear us? NO. By our own Goverments actions muslims now flock to the extremists. We are not the world police-oops I guess we are and since we are how can we hold up our actions as a model for civilized people to emulate when we allow revenge and anger to overpower justice? How can we allow this country to debase everything that we stand for? Freedom and Justice for all even muslims.

I believe in treating others as you would want to be treated. This is not one country against another country-- this war on terrorism is about one country against an idea, a ghost, a holy war. you can't fight a religious war and win. look at isreal and palestine-they have been fighting for CENTURIES!!!! this is a lose lose situation.

I agree it's a test of our character, if we are willing to get involve and stand up for right and use our intellect to sort out the issues and support the rules of the Geneva convention. There were so many war crimes commited in WWW11 that after the trials people were horrified. The Elders in our community hoped there would never be another war; How soon we forget. If the Geneva convention words are vague how about conferring with Allies, heads of state how they interupt it. What makes Americans think they are the best qualified.??

Just out of curiosity, are you as miffed about the terrorists of Hezbollah and Hamas who daily "fight in secret" by their very nature and violate the geneva convention daily by torturing and killing journalists, civilians, and workers without trial?

Are you as angry about the fact that terrorists use UN ambulances to transport their troops, dress in civilian clothing so they are indistinguishable from civilians(not wearing uniforms), by strategically placing their headquarters in civilan apartments, and spread mass propaganda and lies about the war?

Terrorists violate international law daily, yet you choose to get angry at our elected officials. Why?

Why the Geneva convention does not apply to terrorists (Who by definition under the Geneva convention are war criminals):

And now you're just going off on your own rant. Are you making a specific accusation against our leaders or our military? Because I have seen no evidence that such discrimination is occurring.

You said:

Here is another baseless rant that ignores the facts. Al Quaida is not an idea, Hezbollah is not a ghost and neither is Hamas - these are all interconnected terrorist networks with REAL people and REAL goals to murder, destroy and blow up CIVILIANS to advance THEIR GOALS! Wake UP!!!

Yeah...silly me...after watching in horror on live TV as 343 of my brother firefighters were killed in a terrorist attack, I wanted the leaders of my country to avenge them and seek out and destroy terrorists worldwide so that this would never again happen on American soil.

I guess you think we should turn the other cheek and let the terrorists strike again.
