The short answer is give it time to heal. Make sure that you gently wash the scratched area, then you could probably use some anti-biotic ointment and a bandage to cover it. See if you can avoid getting that area wet for a few days; change the bandage and add more anti-biotic ointment every day or couple of days. If the scratch becomes a scab, try not to disturb the scab (don't scratch or rub on it if you can help it) because the skin is healing from the inside out and so the scratch may heal more quickly and with less signs of scarring if you leave it alone for awhile. . .

If it is red and infected, you should see the doctor just to be on the safe side.

If the scratch has begun to heal and is no longer an open wound, go to Walgreens and buy a bottle of Vitamin E in capsule form. Try puncturing one capsule of vitamin E and put it on the scar tissue every morning.

My husband used it when he burned his hand leaving a quarter sized scar. He applied vitamin E daily for awhile. I don't notice the scar any more.

Take an aspirin so you can at least get your rest & sleep at night. Hope you feel better soon.

I hope it is not infected. You may need to see a doctor about that, mate. When it closes, put olive oil or aloe vera to help the scar lighten.

actually, you need to see a doctor. cat scratches and bites can be very infectious. even small ones can be a problem. my niece can attest to it. one of our cats got her (after she teased the sh*t out of it) and she ended up in ER two days later. go see doc

Umm... either leave it alone or put antibiotic, soothing, and cooling cream on it.
