Okay, we all know that nobody really likes work. But, it does suck when the funding starts to run out. So, my question, how long have you gone without a job? How many interviews did you go to before finally landing a position? Give me some details and be honest. Thanks.

i know what some are you went through or are going through. I have a BS in Information Technology plus a lot of certifications plus military plus 1/2 way through my second BS in biology plus some other stuff and some companies look at me like i'm way "overqualified" or under school. The simple low budget jobs look at me and try not to look at me because of what they think i will ask for. Sucks doesn't it. I've even started to look for things outside of my state and even country.

1.5 years and still interviewing. Alot of people are telling me Im over qualified and then the low-income jobs look at my like Im crazy. then of course the realy really good jobs want you to have a PH.D. It really sucks and I have already been to college. Here I am in debt for college and cant even get a job, makes me wonder if college was even worth the time. :-S

I went 9 weeks once with only 3 interviews. Here is a good tip though- if you're in the interview and the person starts talking about benefits and pay, you can pretty much assume you've got the job. My brother is going on 9 months now without a job and he has a mortgage and a $350 car payment!

I went for almost 3 months without a job, and only 2 interviews in that time. I was sending out resumes every week (just like they tell you at unemployment), but the market was so lousy at that time, no one was hiring. I got the job on the second interview I went on. If I hadn't gotten that job, I was going to go to college full time and finish up getting my degree. BTW, I did go back to school part time at night and got my bachelor's degree. Ever since then, I've never been out of work.

I went 4 months without a job. I was not seriously job hunting initially, think i only went for less than 5 interviews.
