you know the postal service song called Hackensack..." and if you ever get back to Hackensack i'll be there for you" does anyone know if that song is reffering to Hackensack, New Jersey?

Yes it is. It's by a Group called Fountains of Wayne named after a store in Wayne NJ so it's more than likely that it's Hackensack NJ.
When I first heard the song, I started thinking about my own high school, since the song refers to him talking to the girl in period 1. When I heard that line "ever go back to Hackensack" I was taken aback...my high school? Hackensack High School!
