When my boyfriend buys me a gift, I feel pressured to show him my appeciation. Before I can enjoy the gift, he begins to nag or "act distant" before I have the time to take everything in and thank him sincerly holding his hand and looking in his eyes. Last time, he nag over and over again until he drove me out of my mind. I know its important to show appeciation, but has a line been cross when I began to resent my occasional gifts? I appeciate him very much, but I'm frustrated with the conditional responces to gift giving he urges. When I give him a gift, I know he's happy and I don't have to nag him with the "type" of thank you I want. A smile, or hug is enough. Why does he do this? Gifts are like Doom's day to me.

mIt seems like he is buying you gifts just so you will pay him attention. Maybe you should just give him little unexpected hugs and kisses when ever you are with him and tell him from time to time that you love him and apprecite him make sure you do it when he isn;t giving you a gift, It seems like he loves you a lot he maybe just doesn't feel the same thing back not that I am saying that you don't love him I mean he isn't feeling it as strong as you do good luck

Well i belive that probably the reason in which he does this is because he thinks that you don't appreciate that he buys you these gifts. O if you do not think that it is this then just tell him when you two are talking and just tell him that you really adore the way he gives you gifts but make sure that it is not on a day that he gives yo a gift. Or just like out of nowhere let him know that you really care for him and also tell him that he means alot to you but other than i do not know why he would act like that i mean if he acts like that there must be a reason for his emotions so you can either try talking to him and really try to figure out what is really going on in his mind.I mean most likely he might feel like you don't show him that you care about him the way that he cares about you. and also guys can be the most sensativein the most weirdest times.but like i said just let him know that you really want to know why he nags at you the most when he gives you gifts.

The best way to deal with it is to be honest and open about your feelings My partner and i are not that well off but we still manage to treat each other by hugging just laying together on the couch and watch a movie, just let him know that you appreciate the lttle things more than the big things ie gifts.
Good luck

your worried about his expectations after he gives you a gift ?
just enjoy it i dont get anything and i tell mine i love him everyday and do everything he does n othing no hugs nothing would it kill you ?

it does sound kind of immature but think about this he could be doing that because he is unsure of your feelings for him make sure you let him know how you feel and praise him every now and then for little things he does

not that hes a dog but it sounds like when a dog does a trick and t hen wants a treat
