My partner is 18 years older than me and we couldnt be happier but who thinks that this could be a problem?

Wow 18 years -big difference. but hey who am i to judge-my cut off is 10yrs.-but that's not to say happiness can't be found w/ the 18+ age thing- i can tell you from experience problems arise when one lacks maturity-me being the immature(younger) one -wish my partner would relax-chill-but his chilling days are over-and mine i feel were cut short by him-not that i blame him i made my choice-it's just at times i want to be a young again-or act my age-so that could be an issue-making your partner grow up to fast-and missing out on what people your own age have to offer-please don't take this the wrong way-i think people can beat the odds in anything and be happy- i wouldn't change my life w/him-just would of postponed it a little! good luck

age is NOT only a number... THAT's a stoopid OLD cliche'... but age does NOT have to be a problem... sex does NOT have to have a thing to do with it... you say your partner is 18 years older than you, but you don't give YOUR age! DUH... if you're like under about 18 or so, your happiness will be short-lived... you don't even say if your partner is male, female or same as you! THAT makes a diff too... you want a meaningful answer? Ask a question containing necessary facts and info for consideration...

well when I think of someone 18 years my junior or senor the first thing that comes 2 mind is that we would not have many point of reference common. they would not know alot about the things I remember or care about. point in fact I was talking 2 my daughters bf who is 19 and I was talking about growing up n he had no idea what I was talking about made me feel old. when I talk 2 my sisters husband who is 17 years older that I his references r mostly beyond me and I become bored.

it depends on the couple. I have a friend that married a guy 8 years ago, he is 18 years older than her, they were happy for about 7 years, now it is changing. She is still young and likes to go out and have fun, he likes his lazy boy!!!! I guess what im trying to say as long as you both still have the same interests it could work, if not it can be a problem

HA! I just asked the same question earlier! I'm a 21 yr old female and he is 37....So, view my question on the subject to see various comments people have left me. I just cant seem to find people my own age that meet my maturity level...Plus I like a guy that (hopefully) already knows what they want.

Been there, but I was 24. It aint easy. Sex is not the problem, having common friends is. Eventually I had to give up my freinds, he was much cleverer about being passive aggressive enough to piss them off yet not make it obviouse enough where I could count him unresonable. He was vested in keeping me in control.
