The first two answers are very good. You must also train your brain to stop thinking too much about the jealous people around you or if you become jealous...it can be a switch and you are the one to turn it off. It is not easy but you must consentrate on other things that make you feel happy. It takes practice but you can do it!

Jealousy can get carried away and becomes an illess. From jealousy one creates delusions, anticipates things that aren't true. Your thought process begin to be governed by what you justify to yourself to be so.
How do you stop being jealous, count your blessings. Look at the good things in your life, for example do you enjoy good health. It is true the grass is always greener, but the saying should say the grass always looks greener, but is it.
We sometimes think that just because someone drives a better car or wears nicer clothing that they have it better than us, and find ourselves thinking "if only I could be like so and so" How do you know what it is like to be like so and so, you may be surprised if your wish was answered to find out that they owe more money than they can possibly make in a lifetime and are just a paycheck away from being on the street.
Look at yourself for the answer are you happy being you? Then you have nothing to be jealous about. Try and be happy for someone when they experience good luck, and maybe it will rub off on you.
It isn't easy to correct any bad behaviour that we fall into, it's the hardest thing humans can do is to change because we are creatures of habit and if you habitualy envy everyone, then you have to contiously stop yourself from doing this, pray for guidance and the fact that you want to your prayers will be answered but you have to give it time...Good Luck I'm sure you have many things to count as blessings, start there, saying I may not have ..... but at least I have my health and so on. It will get easier.

Hello, How do these people make you feel in your heart and soul.Dig deep into your self and be honest with your self. This could be the answer to both questions. You may have to expel them from your life. This will be hard to do, but we all have to some times.Take Care.

for starters stop hanging out with jealous people, they will only bring you down to their level. are you jealous of what others have or jealous as in some guy looking at your girl? when you have jealous thoughts, learn to recognize them and then put positive thoughts in their place. such as, you see someone with a nice new car.. instead of thinking "must be f'ing nice (sarcastic)" think something like "i like the color of that car" or "i'm glad i dont have to pay his insurance" lol. if its a mate situation and someone is looking at your girl, hold your head high, put you arm around her, pull her close, and give the other person a look that says "yep, shes mine and i know where she will be tonight!" be proud of what you have. its nice to hear someone say they want to be a better person, i'm currently working on that myself. its a nice feeling when you start noticing the differences and know you are getting to where you want to be. good luck in your path!

Acceptance is the key here. We are all made up of both negative & positive traits. We try to deny the negative & expend useless energy in the process.Kudos to you for being aware of your jealous nature.
As for other jealous ppl. Avoid them. They will sap you of your energy. You can change yourself but not others.

Jealousy is insecurity of one self. I am not jealous of my husband because he either wants me or he doesn't. Yes I love him, but I will survive no matter what he decides to do. I f I see a woman noticing him or flirting, I think to myself yes he is handsome, no wonder she is flirting, but he is mine. I walked up one day, hug him and told a girl, This is my husband, and he is handsome. Jealousy is negative, don't spend your time on it. Confidence is the key.

You have to be happy with yourself first. Then you will find the confidence to give the cold shoulder to people who treat you in a sub par manner. You can gain confidence by learning new things and developing new skills. Then you can give yourself more to be proud of.
