The best Midwestern city to live in has to be the metropolitan area of Chicago, Illinois. Metropolitan Chicago (known as Chicagoland) is growing and the population is on the rise. The best city to live in the Chicagoland area has to be Naperville because it is your all American city with something for everyone and the population is over 130,000 and on the rise and although the City of Chicago itself is declining in population, it is because a lot of residents want to live in the suburbs but Chicago is a World Class City and could be the site of the 2016 Summer Olympics and the Games of the XXXI Olympiad.

A lot depends on what you like. I live in a suburb of Chicago. I think Chicago is the best big city in the country. It has everything. It is a rather friendy city too. Milwaukee is cosiderably smaller, but is very metropolitan. It, too, is a good place to live.

i like Omaha....decrease crime value than St. Louis or KC and somewhat smaller, yet nevertheless with "city" conveniences. Des Moines is likewise an impressive place. in case you do no longer strategies the chilly in wintry climate, i in my view like Sioux Falls, South Dakota. that's quite small as "cities" go....i like it because of the fact it variety of sounds like residing interior the suburbs, with out having the site visitors or severe housing expenses. you have have been given a stable sized mall, an incredible type of procuring centers, all your vast chains, eating places, evening golf equipment, etc. it is likewise a short 3-4 hourcontinual to the two Minneapolis or Omaha in case you mandatory to fly someplace, or had to catch a super stay overall performance excursion or something. And the vast plus approximately South Dakota is there is not any state earnings tax. confident, there's a sales tax, yet meals expenses and fee of residing is so low that it makes up for it. you will discover residences to hire in Sioux Falls for 6-800 greenbacks a month, plus they have not been hit with the aid of the housing crash very badly.

Oakland County, Michigan.
Top five richest and most prosperous county in the United States. It would probably be #1 if it wasn't for Pontiac.
Having grown up and still living in Oakland County it amazes me that there is such wealth and lavishness so close to the hell hole that is Detroit.

I would LOVE to live in Chicago, on the least populous part, since it seems to be my favorite bigcity. Or Springfield; I like suburbs. But, who knows...I have always lived in a VERY rural place.

Strictly out of midwest...
1. Detroit. (home, best sports teams)
2. Indianapolis (small town friendliness, clean)
Chicago is too crowded, roads too congested, too expensive, and the winters are waaayy to cold!
