do you read the answers others have given before you give yours, and if so, isnt that sorta cheating? I dont, i give my answer and THEN read what others have said.

Sometimes it says be the first one to answer, but by the time you've finished your answer and checked the spelling and punctuation, there are already five or six in the list.
I think it's fair to read everyone else's answers first, if you can, then you won't be repetitious. I don't read the ones that are too long, unless the first few lines catch my attention, and I don't read them if they are not written in proper English because it's just too much work figuring out what they're trying to say.

I like to be the first to answer, so there's usually nothing to read. I know that fo rmy own questions, I would prefer people read the others first, so I don't get redundant responses.

That is cheating. I don't do that. I had this person one time who answered a question ahead of me then saw my answer and went back and changed theirs to the same answer I gave. I hate that.

depends on the question; if it's a trivia question I try to figure it out myself. But if it's a "what do you think of?" type, then I read others to try to see other positions to best answer the question.

I agree with you, it is cheating. I write mine, then read what others have said. If they say something i disagree with then i go back and add something in.
