Yes, most definately.
I have always had a desire to go there because it is such a horrible place in history.
You would think for that reason, no one would WANT to go there, but it is sad to think of all the atrocities that took place there and it should be visited solely for that reason - so it is never forgotten.
"Arbeit macht frei"... how sad to think of all the people who entered those gates and believed it.

Auschwitz is an awe-inspiring piece of world history. Suffering and persecution of humans based on the ideals of a "select" few simply based on beliefs. It is just hard to comprehend the reasoning behind it all.

I would go. I also went to the museum in dc.
Those who do not know their history are condemned to repeat it. If we forget how painful the tragedies of men are, man will do it again.
