I think there's two forms of graffiti-- one is art and one is vandalism. People tagging names or swear words on other people's property is not an art form, it is vandalism.

I suppose that whether or not what you do is wrong depends on where you are doing the graffiti. Is it in a location that is specifically graffiti friendly or do you have permission from the property owner? If so then it's absolutely not disgusting or wrong. However, if you are doing this on someone else's property without consent, that's not very cool.

There are some amazingly talented people out there doing this!

If you like to do graffiti, why don't you do it on canvas and have it placed in a museum, or maybe an open air market. Then it's not wrong, it's potentially money if some wants to buy it. Sorta hard to take a wall home and hang it in the living room.

Drawing/painting on property which does not belong to the artist is vandalism.

The jerks who put their stuff all over public walls and buildings ALL think their 'art' is good. It isn't. It's not even CLOSE to good. It's just another aspect of self-centered egomaniacs who think they're doing something important and who have no respect for anyone. They wouldn't like my art either, but I don't put it on THEIR property.

there are some spots that are graffiti-friendly like in LIC in New York. So, unless you go to such places, graffiting is basically a misdemeanor.

I don't mind graffiti on bridges, trains if it's done nicely and not dirty. However I don't like it on buildings like apartment houses.
