Does anybody have any idea how to restore static to colorforms?

We have some older, perfectly good colorforms, but the static is gone, they don't stick to the backgrounds. Any ideas on how to restore the static?

No dumb comments, please.

try rubbing alcohol wipe down the board and the sticker

Clean them really well.
