The minute you try and eat the year old freezer burned wedding cake that against your better judgment you kept because that's what everyone told you to do and you drive your food poisoned wife to the hospital because she like you barfed at every traffic light and stop sign on the way there because the butter cream went south.
Yeah that's when I knew we were "man and wife".

First year anniversary...But newlywed can also refer to how you act around each other. If you keep that "new feeling" vibe going then you can be newlyweds for years.

I would have to say for the first year. After that you are settled in and familiar with each other, and on your way to "The old married couple!" (but it's a proud thing-each year you pass)
