Does anyone know any current major problems that south korea is facing...? i'm trying to stay away from nuclear weapons because that is one for North Korea...

Well, its neighbor wants to kill it, US has major bases in it which most don't want, but need for protection. It has a neighbor on the other side that believes they are inferior (Japan) I mean they have no friends, other than the U.S. which our service men aren't the best embassadors. Racisim is rampid in South Korea (see Hindes Ward story) Then again all countries have their problems. I would say the biggest issue now there is whether to kick out the U.S. bases or keep them.

North Korea's Nuclear weapons projects have failed. The missiles they launch always fall apart. The problem is that in the future ( if they are not stopped) they will eventually develop the capability to deliver nuclear or biological weapons.

Politically, there are still conflicts between the right and left wings.
The current regime is more friendly with N. Korea. They have pretended they are more democratic and interested in the poor in the society, but most Koreans have been disappointed with what they did last 4 years, because there were no right development or reforms but the gap between rich and poor is getting serious.

It is facing problems with North Korea and pushing it out of missle testing. Border patrling NK.

south korea is the better korea, no harm done there
