I don't think I ever smelled smoke at the beach, with all the wind and salt air.
You should hire out to the Feds as a drug sniffer.

I too am a non-smoker. If someone wants to smoke out of doors it doesn't really bother me. I can always remove myself. I don't however think people should be able to smoke inside public buildings.

Store - no smoking
Beach - ok.
Why? Inside versus outside. If you ban smoking outside, then the reasoning dictates you need to ban automobiles and factories too. Since a line needs to be drawn, inside/outside seems appropriate.
Spend an hour in your garage with a smoker. Then spend an hour in the garage with your car running. See which is worse.

You're right that by smoking like a train they make non-smokers also pay the consequences. I do not like the smell of cigarrette smoke and I know it will hurt me. I think that if they are so addicted they should do it in their own home or in special places to do so, not wherever they want.

No. I don't think you should be able to smoke inside a public venue but outside do what you like. I also don't think they should be able to burn incence sticks in public venues. There are a hundred perfumes that cause migraines that are not banned in public. They cause health concerns for sufferers - how far should laws go?

It's just about outlawed in California.
There are more and more places where smoking is not allowed.
It's a shock going to other states where it's still allowed in restaurants and other public places.

Even though many people hate smokers, it's really their right to smoke tobacco. Don't like it? Don't go to that restaturant that has it.
They have every right you have, plus second hand smoking, doesn't kill. Sorry folks, but it is indeed bullshit about second hand smoking.

Why is it O.K. to drive a car and pump out emissions into the air, and not O.K. for someone to pump out emisions by smoking a cigarette? Should we outlaw pumping any emissions into the atmosphere? If you can drive...they can smoke.
