The NFC South has Warrick Dunn, Jerious Norwood, Carnell Williams, Michael Pittman, Deshawn Foster, DeAngelo Williams, Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush. I think this is the best division for running backs.... do you think there is any other division deeper with better production than this one ???

The AFC West is a great league as far as the starters... but if San Diego, Kansas City and Oakland loose their starters there would be a hugh drop off in productivity. Denver would be in OK shape with Mike Bell though...

Michael Turner is good... but so far he has gotten all his yards this year aganist Tennessee and Oaklands bench.... so I really can't judge him on that.... if he had to start aganist Denver or Kansas City LT would be missed, cause they would'nt have to worry about Turner coming out of the backfield catching passes... or worry about him breaking into the secondary on a 60 yard run...

JB:
Michael Pittman has a Super Bowl ring with the Bucs from 2002... All Carnell has done is rush for 1200 yards last year and win rookie of the year...

The tandum of Foster and Williams will be very dangerous... just wait intil the passing game picks up and gives those two some help...

I gotta go with AFC west on this one, and as far as backups, if LT ever goes down for the Chargers they still have Michael Turner who has 175 yards in 2 games just playing garbage time in 4th quarters. Turner would be a starter on half the teams in the league right now, and probably will be when his contract with San Diego ends.

If you look at his stats from last year you'll see that Turner is indeed a threat, just look to his 75 yard touchdown run against Indy last year. And the kid can catch. Just wait and see, he'll be picked up by another team and be a good starter in years to come.

You may argue that the NFC south has the most athletic running backs, as far as 40 times and agility test goes(I would disagree); it doesn't make sense to say that their division has the most productive or most valuable backs.

Pittman/Williams and Foster/Williams haven't done anything, and the Saints backs(one of whom has been featured more as a receiver) haven't played any decent run defenses. The Falcons have the best rushing group in the league(including Mr. Vick), but one team does not a division make.

It's hard to make judgments about backups, because talent goes only so far in the rushing game. Its all about the O Lines, and I think that the AFC West wins the contest.

Nfl's best???Ur jus namin a bunch of good backs along with their back-ups come on. I can make a case for ne1. Look at the NFC east starters in Tiki,Portis,JJ, and Westbrook. The AFC west has the two most dominant backs in LJ and LT along with the Denver platoon and Lamont Jordan. AFC west has Alexander,Edge, and Steven Jackson. NFL's best? that division doesnt even have a top 5 back. Just because teams have feature backs it doesnt mean they're in trouble. The way i see it those teams in the nfc south use multiple backs because 1 of them cant handle the load.

How about the AFC North with Fast Willie Parker, Jamal Lewis and Mike Anderson, Rudi Johnson, and Reuben Droughns.

no one is as deep as the NFC South but u can make a case for the AFC West which also have a lot of good backs. or the NFC East with tiki barber, brian westbrook, clinton portis, tj duckett, julius jones, and marion barber. but the NFC south is prolly better.
