I understand that it's a little out there that the girls have sex all the time (but that's what the show's about so of course they're going to zero in on that part of their lives). But I would think guys would enjoy it, because it gives them a good view of how women perceive relationships and sex. Do they say they hate it because they're afraid it would be "unmanly" to like such a show? I absolutely love this show and I don't understand why my boyfriend and other guys I know put up such a front about it. Thoughts? Gentlemen?

I said I thought men might like it because since they're "always" so confused about girls, the show might help. What they talk about a lot of women relate to --it's all pretty relevant to real life. I thought men might like that.

Women, men or otherwise, I don't like the show because the main characters are shallow uninteresting people with no values at all (and I'm not even a particularly moralistic sort of person). Who can laugh with a bunch of people like the people on that show? What's the appeal? Is that really what it's like to be a single woman in Manhattan? Or even a vague hint of such a life? Yuck.

Because the show from what I have seen is about a bunch of women and there sex lives and relationships. The only people i know that like Sex in the City are women and gay men. Tell me, what about this show do you think would appeal to men?

Men are not interested in relationships, they are only concerned with rules, regulations, play of the game and the score.
the guys who do watch the show are probably single and maybe looking for some insight as to what girls like and how to get a date. Looking to score.
Guys with girlfriends don't care to watch it because they already have a girl and are not interested in what girls are really thinking or want. Already scored.
Most guys would rather watch competitive sports like golf, baseball, tennis, hockey etc. Watching the score.
Then you have the macho guys who are easily excited watching men running around grabbing and hugging one another and patting another mans a$$ under the goal post. Foul and out of bounds.
Sorry ladies but Its all about score

For one thing, its predictable. You know the relationship that starts at the beginning of the episode will fail. It has to, thats what keeps them single and sleeping around.
And what about the constant ooo'ing and cooing over the men? You expect straight men to watch that and not be bored, roll their eyes, etc?
Even the humor and lines are predictable. A well-built guy walks into the wedding rehersal, and you know what line is coming. Something about him looking like the "best man". (wink, giggle)
Oh barf.

I got my brother hooked on it and he is not gay. He has nothing against the characters in fact his favorite character is Charlette. I got into it because my psychology teacher bought an analogy off the show. And he was hot and not gay. Maybe the guys you know are not giving it a try.

I like it, but of course I'm a girl. Maybe it's the emphasis on shoes?
The show really is kinda girly.
