My friend had this problem at the beach.. Except she'd had it for a while..
Like another person said, take a little hand mirror and.. well, yeah.

Some tampons have applicators, either made out of cardboard or plastic, while others do not have an applicator (plastic with applicator is the best for beginners). When trying to insert a tampon, it is important that you remain relaxed. For the tampon to fit properly, it must be inserted correctly. The easiest position is sitting on the toilet seat and spreading your legs. Point the tampon upwards, angle it towards the small of your back. Insert the tampon into the vaginal opening, leaving the string to hang free. Push the inserter end of the tube until the tampon is in. Try looking at the diagrams that come inside of the boxes.

I read over the answers you already have -- the mirror is a good idea. Getting a junior tampon made for first time users is a big plus. Using vaseline on the applicator is a big NO-NO! This can cause a major infection, since vaseline is a petroleum based product and your normal body secretions will not break down the petroleum -- thus it just kind of stays there. If you think you need extra lubrication, use a lubricant designed for feminine use.
Talk to your mom, big sister, aunt, older female cousin . .. if you don't have any of those options, talk to the school nurse before your test tomorrow.
Good luck on your test!

Most tampons come with instructions on the package, or maybe your should ask a close family member or friend. If that is not available to you at this time, consider talking to a school nurse.
The vaginal opening is just behind the urethra (where the pee comes out). Different brands of tampons are inserted a bit differently, so it helps to have the instructions from the package. If it is very difficult for you to insert the tampon, try taking some deep breaths and relaxing........then try again. Positioning yourself with one leg up may help. For example, place one foot up on the toilet seat or sink counter. Good luck!

The easiest way is to sit in front of a mirror and then you can find your vaginal hole and insert the tampon....If it feels weird like it is not in all the way then take it out and insert a new one until it is comfortable...and if you are still having problems the stick your finger in and push the tampon up further inside you but make sure that the removal string is still on the out side of your vagina....After that you should hav e no problems inserting a tampon....good luck

use a mirror, put one leg up on the toilet seat and use a mirror. Push the tampon in with your index finger and make sure that you push it in far enough. Make sure the string is unraveled from the tampon so it doesn't get lost. Also Make sure you change it right after your test is done so that the water doesn't get to it and start dripping blood down your leg, yuk. Always change your tampon at least 3-5 times a day to avoid TSS and smelling. Good luck on your test.

First get the samllest or regular size tampon.
I suggest squatting and a mirror also.
Push applicator to insert tampon. You may feel discomfort.
If tampon is in correctly you shouldn't feel anything.
And make sure you feel the string at the end of the tampon.
That's it, for extra protection try a pantyliner too.
Don't leave tampon in longer than 5 hours.

This may sound weird but try stradling across your toilet seat. That should help. It took me a while when I started wearing tampons to find the right spot and get it in there. Try the toilet thing and try finding the right place with your finger first as a guide. You'll get it. Just relax and be patient- it may take a good amount of time at first!

Do you have an older female you can ask? They might be able to explain better in person. And don't be embarassed, all women have to deal with this.
Just keep trying. Buy the smallest (juniors) tampons you can find. Put vaseline on the applicator to help insertion. It may take a while before you get the hang of it.

here is something that helped me when i was in my teens..lay down on the bathroom floor and take the tampon in your hand..put your feet down so your knees are bent, and slowley and gentely insert the tampon into your opening, make sure it goes back as far as possible...it may feel a little uncomfortable at first, some people get use to it, some don't..

It will help when your period is rather heavy, as it will be smoother getting in. If it is too 'dry' inside then it will be harder and more painful. try to find one with an applicator as it will be easier, or one with some sort of plastic coating over it.
The hole is quite easy to find. You will only have two holes , and it is not the one you do poo with.
Try with the mini size first. Good luck!
