Do you mean "The Long Walk" by Slavomir Rawicz or by Stephen King? I read the one by Rawicz and it is awesome adventure, and a true story. If you're talking about the King one, I still recommend the other. Check it out on amazon. I am a King fan, & always wanted to read it, but I can never seem to find a copy...

'The Long Walk' was written by Richard Bachman. After his book 'Thinner' came out, it was discovered that Richard Bachman is Stephen King. 'The Long Walk was released in a book called 'The Bachman Books'. There were 3 other short stories in that book. Another story out of that book is 'The Running Man'.
The story of 'The Long Walk' is 100 teenagers(can't remember if it was coed) were to walk from Maine through the New England States. It talks about the friendships that develop and what a teenager will do to win the grand prize. I can't remember much more, it's been a long time since I read the book.

If you are referring to the one by Stephen King, I read it a long time ago and highly recommend it. A very good story.

I read it and was dismayed to find out there would, of course, be only one winner and the others would be killed. Not my idea of an enjoyable novel.
