Cope does this thing called start and stop or something because Kenny Wallace on Race Day was talking about it and he said he would never do it but for every lap you race you get a certain amount of money and if you race 5 laps you made more money then you came iwht and you can use that same car at the next race and make even more money and then Petty does it because his dad is the King of NASCAR and no one can deny that and he is one of the greatest NASCAR drivers ever and its tradition and their is a few times were he actually gets a top 15 or top 10 but on rare occassions but thats pretty good for him and he hasn't done well since his son died in that car accident during practice a few years ago and he was an okay driver to start with but he was and will never be as great as his father.

You are not a real fan.Cope and Petty are both very good drivers. The "GLAMOR DRIVERS" (GORDON,JOHNSON,STEWART,EARNHARDT ECT) get the head lines but the real work-a-day drivers are those that make up the feild. Some are past their prime, others are just getting to their prime.
A fan of the sport has his/her favorite driver but they know that the race is built up of 43 drives and it takes everyone of them to put on an event that we will enjoy.
So the socalled fan that says so-and-so should not show up are not the true fan but are of the "new generation"that has discovered NASCAR since it has become a wallstreet puppet,I have followed stockcar racing since 1960 so I have seen drives come and go. Then on raceday when 43 drives take the green these are the best 43 NASCAR drivers that day.

Because racing is their occupation, their job, it is how they make money. Even the drivers who don't place in the top 20 or so still get paid more money than most of us make. Kyle Petty took over the 45 when his son Adam died (that was Adams #) and he races in remeberance of him I am sure; the Pettys are a HUGE part of NASCAR.

i think just because u have to have a 43 car field.without those "losers" as u say there would only be 41 cars.dont ask me why u cant race with 41 cars,'cause i dont know.
would u race a 400 mile race for $45,000?i would.even if i did come in last.nice pay for a weekend aint it?i'm happy to make $700 on a saturday afternoon.

Who knows. They are both terrible drivers. Kyle Petty is only racing because of his last name. Richard Petty wasn't all that great either. Dale Earnhardt was a much better driver.

That's easyit's the $$$$$$! last place still pays better than a doctor would make in a week! Hell, if I could drive a stick shift, I would be happy with a few last place finishes!
Even Nascars biggest loosers are far richer than I'll ever dream of being!

Because it's what they love to do. Kyle does it because it's in his blood. Derrick doesn't make all of the races though so we don't see him as much.
And neither one of them are losers. How about you go try and race one of those cars and see how it is! It sure as heck isn't as easy as you think.

Because last place still makes 60 to 90,000 dollars on some weekends. Jeff Green finished dead last at New Hampshire and made $75,000 for one race.

If you DNF or finish more than ten laps down you should not get paid for it, that would weed out the start and park situation for sure.
