I thought Apple was a little weird, but then I watched a show on VH1 and there was really a kid named Banjo, and another named Pilot Inspektor (spelled like that). Theres was alot weirder names too.

I saw that show! It was Jason Lee that named his kid Pilot Inspektor right?

I think if the name has a meaning, like the maybe the mother's maiden name than it's cool. I think Tom Cruise's baby's name is cute, Suri. It's supposed to mean Princess but i forget which language it is.

Parents want their kids to stand out from the crowd and be recognized. An easy to remember name is golden, and the odd ball names are the ones people remember.

I do feel sorry for their children when they go to school. I can hear the bullies now....shudder.

Silly parents...offbeat, odd names are for adults not for children.

I think it started years ago with Frank Zappa (Moon Zappa), but I don't think celebrities corner the market on strange names- I've a grandson named Zaypher and one on the way whose moniker will be Lagian. My other daughter is having a little girl whose name will be Rhiannon Lillianna!

Honest answer here. If you think about it, the majority of celebs out ther have lived thier whole lives striving for attention. Actually it is necessary for thier carreers that they do so.Therefore in order for them to gain ever-going attention, they name thier kids attention getting names. Its really more for THEM than the kids though. It is simply in thier nature to do this! What gets me is that after they do, they are always having to shield thier kids from the media and complain constantly of thier lack of privacy. The celebs don't always use the best judgement but as I said before, its in thier nature and all they know. Thanks, J

Because they are rich people of course, if they were middle class like everybody around, they wouldn't call the kids like that because they would feel embarrased, but they have the money so they don't care and that's what they want us to know

They aren't the only ones doing it, they just get national attention. I've run across some strange ones over the years locally.
