The bubles are because impurities were on the metal (or if in second coat,-on first coat). You always want the surface a clean as you can get it . The small bubles that are known as "fish eye". can happen,- it is because there are still small pockets of thinner in the first coat, or small amounts of moisture before first coat (after you have cleaned the surface thoroughly). You can buy fisheye eliminator (known as "fee") at the paint store (automotive), -if instructions not on container, they can tell you about how much to use. It mixes with paint.

Repair will require removing paint to good surface (usually by sanding), - you can use "wet-or-dry" sandpaper (with water) to make edges of paint "feather out" and then "spot paint it", - if not mettalic. Mettalic will require whole panel (at least) to be painted, as metal "flecks" will not align the same as the ones already there on other surface ( a real experienced auto painter can sometimes get away with it.) You may be able to just sand down second coat, - if first is ok, -otherwise it is "all the way to the bottom", and start over! Also you want to wait till the paint is pretty well dried, or it will "roll up in balls", - plug up your sandpaper, - and make a mess in general!

I'm not apainter, - but I have seen enough of them, and did enough of my own (by hit and miss procedure).

i own a repair and restoration shop,,and i think what happened to it is,, it had a chemical reaction on it,,maybe caused by the wrong thinner being used on it or the surface not being prepped right,,if the whole things bubbled up it was probably a chemical reaction caused by the thinner in the paint as one person mentioned fish eyes is only spots in the paint that bubbled up on it,,also cheap enamel paint will do this,,there are different grades of paint ,and the old saying you get what you pay for falls true on paint, never use a cheap enamel ,,always use a good paint, and you get good results from it,you,ll have to sand it off,and start over with it,,good luck,,hope this help,s.

Ok It has happened to me before. You will have to resand 400 grit wet sand. Did you use any fisheye eliminator? Did you sand the primer If so never touch the primed surface with your hands (OIL) no spray lubricants. Primer should dry 24 hrs before paint. Talk to your paint store. There are so many different types of paint. Lacquer primer will work with any top color paint. Sorry no good answer.

YOU DIDN'T PREP THE CAR GOOD ENOUGH. THERE IS EITHER OIL OR WAX STILL ON THE CAR. DID YOU TOUCH THE BODY WITH YOUR BARE HANDS BEFORE PAINTING? DID YOU SCRUB DOWN THE CAR WITH PREP-SOLVENT JUST BEFORE PAINTING? YOU MUST REMOVE THE PAINT, SAND, AND PREP AGAIN. SORRY

Your paint penetrated your primer and caused it to life or else you trapped solvents under your paint.

Did you use grease and wax remover on it before spraying it? If not ,then you need to resand it ,use the remover and respray. What you are seeing is referred to as fish eyes caused by wax
