In democracy voting is the way the people control their government...democracy is the government of the people so people have the right to have a say so in how that government is run and who get into office to make those decisions.

Yes because without voting the president would be the only one to choose who would be our governor, what proposition is the best, etc, Voting is also right because everyone gets to say their decision on what would make this world a better place. It is basically freedom of speech.

A whole lot of countries don't let their citizens vote. We are one of the few who get to. It's a right granted to us (provided we were white males) by the constitution. I found a nice article about how we all got voting rights at this link if you're interested in looking it over.

Voting is a privilege not a right. Get convicted of a felony and they will not let you vote.

I agree with that one girl. Voting is not a right, just like driving is not a right. It's a priviledge you have to earn.

because if we have decided to have a democracy, and we believe that everyone is equal, then voting has to be a right.

In Australia, it is an obligation, with penalties if you don't vote.

It a right becuz u have a choice.... and no one can tell you wat do do. and no one can take that away from u no matter wat.
