First, calm down and get over your anger. Yes, he did a low life thing to you, but staying mad 24/7 isn't going to solve the problem. Call the police and call an attorney.
It also depends on how long the two of you have been living together and when the car was purchased. If a court decides that you were "common law" married at the time of purchase, then he is a joint owner of the car.

Bottom line: Car is in your name. He has it unlawfully and without your permission. It is in fact stolen.
Call the police and report it stolen and who has it and where it can be found.
Making you walk in the rain while having a 3 week old baby. He is a low life. Don't take him back.
Good luck.

Samething happened to my sister. Unfortunately, you can't press charges for car theft because he had the keys and he is on the insurance . But since the car is in your name, call the police and tell them what has happened and they will go with you to get your car. The car key situation is a she said he said type of thing and really can't be proven that they weren't given to him.

If the car is only in your name, then the car is yours. Report it to the police as stolen, and let them know who stole it and if you know where to locate him. Just make sure you have your title ready to prove the car is owned only by you and it's not a jointly owned vehicle.
I believe you can even press charges and have him thrown in jail.
You should have called the cops immediately after you found out your car was gone.
Good luck. (and congratulations on your new born)

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

YES you should report it stolen. Insurance has nothing to with it. That car is your property (in your name) Your Ex sounds like a real jerk and should be prosecuted.

Call the police and report it stolen. It does not matter if he has the key or under your insurance, the car is under your name and he took it without your permission.
