Simply, because there are so many illegals here that there simply is not the manpower to do so. As well, we have allowed illegals to operate in a legal gray zone for so long that mass deportation would be kind of hipocritical at this point.
This is a very complicated issue that people want made simple.

Generally because they are here illegally; they commit a crime, or because the country they come from expedites them. Example. If someone is charged with a crime in the USA and runs off to New Zealand, we can have them sent back here to be tried, or vice versa.

2. That is a good question that is at the heart of the immigration conflict that is going on right now. Some say illegals should be allowed to become citizens, while others say they should be deported. Right now I don't think we have an answer to that.

People are being deported in the US because they are illegal immigraants and most citizens don't want them here because "they take over their jobs", but then who or witch citizen will pick out the fruits and do the jobs immigrants do, their jobs are not easy.

They are caught having committed a crime , If they commit a crime I believe they are sentenced and they serve their sentence . After wards they are deported . They can commit any kind of crime such as capital crime ex. murder or kidnapping or they commit a crime of moral turpitude like drinking and driving ( DUI ) .
They are not deported because they haven't done anything wrong or haven't been caught. There are SO many illegal aliens and cops are busy busting people who are committing crimes.

If you have been watching the news, one young man, I don't know where he was from, but he came to our country and was killing innocent people. I would say my answer would be protection of our country. I don't dislike any people that are from a different country, but it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the whole bunch. We have that here in the US. too. In ALL races. I guess it just depends on the person, what's going on in their life, and how they grew up...
