Any entomologists in the house???

I tried to take pix of this weird ugly insect I have in a test tube...but the flash keeps disrupting it...so I attempted to draw it....here it is..

FAQS about it: I found it in a stream in Vancouver B.C, Canada....it was hiding by some moist rocks at the edge...it is brown and a little fuzzy...it is about 2 cm long and 1 cm wide...it has 6 legs and prominant mouthparts....what on earth is it???

I don't see that picture attached. It might be a dragonfly larva which has prominent mouth parts suitable for grabbing little fish for food.

no picture posted. But try a clasification key. It should help you find the right taxonomic group. If it was in the water it is probably a larval stage of the adult insect so be sure to try the larvae classifications.

I want to say dragonfly larvae...they usually have a huge jaw that helps them capture prey. Try searching for them and see if they look like what you have.

If it was encased in a rock cocoon, then it's a mayfly larvae.
