Ok here's the problem i have an 8mbps connection and well for most regular downloads and streaming video it's awsome!. but when it comes to file sharing programs i cant ever get the most out of my connection an example being i'm downloading this game about 3.5gb and well it's downloading like if i have dial up why???. i say this because yesterday i downloaded a very similar game in size and was downloading much much faster i guess what i mean to say, was that the fast file was downloading at 300kbps and the slow one is at 8-20kbps, i've got no routers and my modem is connected directly to my computer can someone plz help me out??.

How are you downloading the games? via Bittorrent? cause if thats the case, bittorrent download speed depends on the amount of people thats seeding/downloading the game. Therefore theres going to be times when hundreds of people are downloading a game in return, this will increase the speed of your download. the reverse will happen if nobody is connected and downloading the same game.

The site you are connected to might be very busy or have an otherwise slow server.

It sounds as if the place you're uploading from has a very slow net connection.

Hi. The speed is limited to the SLOWEST connection, yours or the other one.
