Well I would assume that the 20's-30's generation probably are doing some of the same valueless and immoral things the generation before them did. I mean the 20's-30's generation were born to the parents of the 1970's and 1980's. Hmmmm...Aren't those parents, the generation that really were the diseased free love, abortion, Alcoholic, Cokeheads, HIV/AIDS inductors of the US generation. But not to mention probably your parents the the parent's of 1950's-1960's. Wow this is a special generation, This is the generation that invented these intellectual stimulatings and healthy things like McDonalds, Hula Hoop, Barbie, Spacewar(the first computer video game invented) and Mr. Potato head. Not to mention they also were the inventors of the virginal 'ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE' and hidden teen adoptions and please don't forget the horrors of civil rights leaders being tortured in that time, children and their parents hosed down with the same water pressure they use on circus elephants.

Oh but don't worry we have a bright future of Preteen parents and Technology driven, desensitized, Socially bankrupt homebodies with even less morals and even less tack and respect, with the 1990's and up births.

The reason is basically that God has been kicked out of our society. The mainstream media has been force feeding the generations "do it, you deserve it, your number one, go for it" So everyone thinks that they are entitled to do WHATEVER they think makes them happy. It doesnt matter. Also the shoving of evolutionary teaching from childhood has basically set forth that we are nothing but smart animals, with no soul and no eternity. Just higher on the food chain, and therefore you almost cant blame them for not caring about what they do. Morals are from God. God is banished. There you have it. Sin reigns!

parents have taken the back seat and expect schools to take their place. Schools are handicapped by fear of retaliation from ignorant parents.

Social change had sadly forced both parents out to work and it's taking it's toll on teaching kids basic moral values, ethics and plain good manners and etiquette

Because their parents never taught it to them, my Dear. They have been catered to from the day they were born and expect the world to be given to them on a silver platter. I've seen more than a few of those of who you're speaking of. They have no customer service, they pack an attitude and they need to be taught the manners they should have learned at home. The work place is no place to be teaching manners, although I try to do the job that their parents haven't. Blessings.

I blame parenting and society! Both have been too flexible and lenient! If the parents of today don't start to instill morals, values, goals, and respect into their children, we will continue to see a steady decline in all of the above. Society, as well, shouldn't turn a blind eye and, in turn, make it acceptable.

Makes sense....their parents would have been right in the middle of th e"me" generation...self centered, self absorbed, self aggrandizing...a strong secular humanism age...morals, values, behavior pretty much situational...and pliable...
the [near] start of the digital age...this the era when kids started to play with their game boys, intendos...etc etc etc...computer games, computer interactions...
in short....many kids never had to learn any socializing, interacting , humanizing skills....

so....if those are the "role models" that you see from your parents..is it any wonder that their children behave the way they do???

overage infantile mentality...still trying to make the world recognize that they are the centers of the universe..

Yeah they've become consumed by the materialistic world thats both eaten them up and spit them out. Their shallow lives have become of shell filled with no real values or morals. I, thankfully think I'm not one of them.

It could, perhaps, be their upbringing. It could, again perhaps, be the result of the culture they live in. It could be leftover from the "Me" generation, which was characterized by people who cared and worked only/mainly for themselves.

However, it could just be your perception of them.

Does anyone know why? Perhaps they do. You should ask one, when you see them.
