Homosexuals are already accepted by society and some Christian churches. Most Christians will accept them as a person in need of salvation but I don't think their sin will ever be validated by mainstream Christianity.

Well, if the journey of Blacks gives any clue as to where gays are headed, I'd say you can expect toleration and maybe even rights in the not-too-distant future.
Now when it comes to people and their personal "beliefs" thats a whole 'nother story... Look at the way Blacks are still treated today...(200 hundred years AFTER slavery and the Ku Klux Kowards are still out there) You cant force people to grow up.

People hate because they fear, and people fear because they dont understand. Hate is born of ignorance. 9 x out of 10 these people who hate gays dont know any "gay" people and are perfectly happy being ignorant backwater bigots. And there is nothing you can do to change them. That is something they must want to do. But God has a way of making idiots learn the hard way, so its usually the bigots that have the gay kids.

The Bible's Old Testament speaks against homosexuality, calling it an abomination. It also says eating shrimp is an abomination, but you dont ever hear that part. White people used to use the Bible to justify slavery, and today that wont fly.
The Bible is full of contradictions, whats right in one book is wrong in another. And bigots will always use their own interpretations to justify what they believe. Use it as a guide for your life, but if youre going to reinterpret it for your own agenda, dont fault someone else who has a different interpretation; Ive heard that the Bible NEVER actually condemns homosexuality in certain interpretations (and some of those Male/Male relationships in the Bible are highly questionable themselves ((King David))). But if youre gonna take one thing at face value, you better take it ALL at face value no picking and choosing. So no homosexuality, no shrimp, no colored clothes, no polyester, etc. etc...

By society, it looks like a lot of people are tolerating and accepting a person that has the sexual preference of the same gender.

I can't stand that society is trying to make a sexual preference such a big deal. The only times its a big deal and needs to be addressed is because of diseases that are being spread because of that practice and that its one of the many sins that leads to hell according to the bible.

As far as Christians accepting it, God hates the sin of homosexuality. Why should Christians be expected to think it is okay? Christ's example that Christians should follow is to show compassion/love to the person making the choice to be homosexual, but hate the act of homosexuality(the sin).
In God & Christ's eyes, all humanity sins in some way and homosexuality is one of the many sins God hates.

I am a christian, and the people that I know who are Christians have accepted gays..it is their lifestyle that is not accepted. God made Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve. To God all sin is the same....He loves everyone and so do true Christians... If someone claims to be a Christian and hates anyone they are lieing to themselves and everyone they talk to. When Jesus was on earth He spent most of His time with the "sinners" the people that society did not want around.

If enough gays come out of the closet, sure they will. Divorce was frowned apon by churches, it was against the bible teachings, but now that there are so many divorced people, the churches have to accept them. It is all about money. If a gay person enters a church with a dollar, they would let him in.

Christians are people who accept Jesus Christ and with that they should not judge. God is the only one to judge us and we should love one another just the same.

DEEP THOUGHT OF THE DAY** Maybe we should make sure every gay person has a dollar then all of the churches would open their doors.

God Bless you.

I sing in church choir with an openly gay guy. He's accepted in our sociey and in our church.

I know not all segments of society are as accepting, however, and if the question is "will gay's ever be accepted by ALL society (or ALL Christians)" then I would have to say no.

Yes. Gays will be accepted because children today know what it is, and teachers have started to teach tolerence of same sex couples. Of course, there will always be those few who believe that only heters-couples are right. Many Christians already think that it is OK to be gay, but Christians try to follow their faith -which at the moment says that it is wrong.

It depends on the Christan----Every Christian does not live by the word of God...but they sure like to make judgments and have the bible back it up .....As long as gays are around people that accept them and love them for who they are who gives a dam about a fake Christian...... A real Christan knows that being gay is no bigger sin than being a liar .......so what I'm trying to say that not matter what your sexual preference you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

I honestly think we are already accepted by most of society, even most christians. I think it is a small but very vocal and politically powerful segment that have a problem with us.
