A control group is the group that is not effected by the experimental variable. For ex. To experiment paper airplanes and thier flight distance, The control would be the construction of an ordinary paper airplane and the variable would be the changed design of the plane, Hopes this helps.

Your question is a bit vague, so this may not be the answer you are looking for.

In scientific experiments, there are normally a "control group" and an "experimental group."

Say you wanted to do an experiment on the effects of the sun on grapes. You would have two groups of grapes: One group would not be in the sun (the control group) the other group would undergo the experiment (be exposed to sunlight).

After the experiment is over, you can compare the differences between the normal grapes (control group) and the grapes that were under the sun (experimental group).

The control group gives you a base for comparison.
