If the question relates to the colonial revolution of what is now U.S.A. The revolutionaries dealt with a wide array of issues. One o the biggest issues was warmth(or lack of) Valley Forge can have a very harsh winter. With inadequate uniform's, and lack of proper winter foot gear, frostbite was a huge problem, another contributing factor to the frostbite problem was that fires had to be kept low, or nonexistent by night for fear of giving away troop position by dark of night. Dysentery, and male-nutrition were other difficulties faced by the revolutionary troops due to lack of proper food supplies.

fighting in the winter was harsh. many did not have shoes and their feet blistered, cracked, and bled. food was in short supply most of the time. most of the time during the revolution, there was a pause in the fighting during the winter, i.e. americans at valley forge.

They could not get adequate supplies of decent food or clothing. Their weapons did not work. The lack of clothing and shoes caused many to freeze to death. The lack of fresh fruit and water contributed to dysentery.
