The referees on the field and in the booth that worked the Oklahoma Oregon game were suspended for one game. Do you think the suspension should have been more. As a Sooner fan I am very displeased with the Pac-10's suspension to the referees. I think they should at least be suspended half of the remainder of the season. The president of something at OU, David Boren, is threataning to not have the Sooners play at Wash. in 2008. What are your thoughts on the referees and how the game should be fixed. Should the game not count at all like Boren is requesting?

stacy b, not right. if the refs wouldnt have screwed up then OU would be 3-0 right now. This basically cost them their shot at the national title.

i agree sass, but whats is more suprising is not one person said anything about that baseball doesnt have.. replay...NOT ONLY BASEBALL BUT..BASKETBALL
DUHHHH THERES GOING TO BAD CALLS WHEN THERES NO REPLAY BUT THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT AND HAS REPLAY..................
ESPECIALLY WHEN REFS LOOKED AT IT FOR 10 MINS..AND DON'T OVERTURN IT WHEN ITS PLAIN AS DAY....I DONT WANT TO HEAR THE CRAP ABOUT LIMITED VIEW ANGELS...........STOP MAKING EXCUSES BECAUSE YOU GOT PAID OR YOUR JUST PLAIN STUPID....just like the ref getting threats...hes feeling guilty for screwiing them over...hes making excuses/lies to cover up his sorry butt for screwing ou over...as far i am concerned...refs screwed them over on purpose. since when does refs look at replay for 10 mins and not overturn the call? comon if it was justified then it would take only 1 min to look. what i dont get is...ou recovered ball but oregon gets it?
not counting the pass interference call....when ball was tip..obviously .....ball goes straight then wobbles goes directly up then down? it was E.T. that did it...was it? plus the ou player didnt even touch the oregon........
last thing...oregon player didnt even complain!!!!!!!!!!..because if you watch he gets up.... and when he sees the flag he claps....because before the flag he didnt complain..he knew it wasn't pass inter.

as jim rome says....oregon fans stop saying oregon would of won.....stop it..the game was giftwrap for oregon....end of story..

oh yeah OU FAN...OU GOT SCREWED..NOW NO CHANCE OF NAT. TITLE..AND PROBABLY SCREWED ADRIAN PETERSON OF HEISMAN...AND THEY CALL SOONERS WHINE BABIES BECAUSE OF THIS?
IF IT WAS YOUR TEAM..YOU WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY. END OF STORY.

yes refs should be suspended for more than 1 game....go to espn. com on college page and read the thing about ou..they consider the commissioner and what whiners and, embarassing....yeah whatever, it would be different if it was some other team

I think the referees should have been suspended for more time and fined a fee. I understand that you'll have refs make mistakes and that's just part of football, BUT, when the replay refs can even spot the errors, that's just tragic. I was such an obvious play. I think they should begin to suspend and fine all refs both college and pro. Maybe that way, they'll be more careful with wrong calls, especially when it decides the game. I'm not an Oklahoma fan, but they didn't deserve that. NO TEAM should loose because fo the refs and as far as should the game count? Well, it's just part of what happens and they're not the first and DEFINITELY will not be the last.

David Boren is President of Oklahoma University. Yes, they should be suspended for at least half the season. A referee should never favor one team over the other. At this point there is no fix for the game unless the game is null and void.

I do not think it was fair at all. But having stricken from the record is just talk, and putting contraversy in the air. These refs should be fired, if i was a visiting team, and these refs are on the field i would throw a fit. They have ruined their ethos. Feel bad about the loss, but everyone in the nation, including those BCS voter coaches will not look back on this as a loss if OU keeps contention for a bowl bid. So in around about way this loss does not really count.

I think the Sooners got hosed BIG TIME but until robots or machines start officinating sports, humans are going to make mistakes - Umpires don't always get balls and strikes correct, NBA officials don't call every foul and football refs don't throw the flag every time they should or they throw it too much - I think the Sooners got screwed but these refs being suspended for a game is plenty - they may have been refs for 10 years and they make one bad call and everyone wants there head - look at the World Series with the Cardinals and the Royals in 1985 - the ump blew the call and it cost them the World Series - it's as much a part of sports as the sport itself - there are going to be blown calls

Bad calls have been around as long as there have been sporting events and probably always will be. Sass has a good point about eliminating conference officiating but officiating is very much an old boys club and this would not be easy. The old boys club situation is also why a number of weak officials tend to stay around. To have the game not count is not going to happen unless Oregon volunteers to forfeit which I have not heard any hint of and I would be extremely surprised to see it happen. I don't know anything about these officials, maybe they've been highly rated up until now. Them being suspended for a bad call is pretty extreme in itself in my opinion. Maybe it should be more but I can live with one game.

big buddy i do see your point, but i do not agree with it at all... this was a blatently obvious call and the referees got it wrong. i dont even know what the replay official was doing, but he wasnt paying attention to the ball on the onside kick, because not only did the oregon player hit it, but oklahoma recovered the ball. that is being screwed twice in the same play, im sorry but this is unacceptable, and cost a team a chance to get a run at a national title too early in the season...

Good for Oklahoma for having the balls to speak out against this. Conference refs are a bad idea to begin with and I wish the NCAA would take over officiating. Maybe if more schools follow OU's lead the NCAA will be moved to finally act on this, instead of wasting its time worrying about Native American mascots.

If there was no replay I could understand the bad call. If it was close on the replay I could understand. But dam! Any 1st grader could look at that and tell who touched the ball first. There is no excuse for getting that one wrong! My thoughts on how the game should be fixed? It seems to me the Pac 10 already has it fixed pretty good!

lol... How did Howard get a destroy? I watched each and every 2d of each and every game and by no ability replaced into he given a destroy. What approximately whilst the great Z, or despite his call is on the Cavs went after and pushed Howard and that they didnt provide him a tech!?!? the factor you develop is sturdy as far simply by fact the undesirable calls. i individually think of they could desire to have replay for ANY form of call. The coaches can undertaking calls, like they do interior the NFL. in the event that they lose the undertaking, they lose a timeout. additionally fines for refs that get 3 or extra calls incorrect in a game. Then they could attempt and get each and every call impressive extremely of giving "superstars" all the calls....IE: LEBRON JAMES! gees if he gets regarded at humorous by the guy interior the stands advertising cotton candy they call a undesirable!
