If they live around St. Louis I could put them to work pulling weeds. I'd start them out at $5. Work up to $8 as they get better. Also leaf season is just around the corner, plenty of money to be made for kids who want to work.

Depending on who their neighbors are they can do odd tasks for them. I live in an established neighborhood with people in their 50's-70's+. They can mow lawns, rake leaves, shovel snow from driveways, clean garages, walk pets, shovel horse/cow manure and just general labor tasks that the neighbors don't have the time or energy to do. I am 26 and still have neighbors call me wondering if I'd still be interested in helping them out. If they have the time there is plenty of money to be made.

Library Book: "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew. If the library doesn't have it, see if they can order through the system. There are similar books in the same general area. There are options for the teens and tweens but they will require dedication and not just a phase of interest.

Since you both are too young to do anything but rake yards and such, Id suggest blackmailing your older siblings.

Do your parents have any friends with little kids? Maybe you can babysit, or even just keep them distracted for their parents. OR, you could offer to do housework...
