..he walked up to the woman sitting near me and asked her if she would mind giving me the empty seat next to her. But, she was kind of fat and there wasn't much of a space there for me to sit next to her, so I didn't sit next to her. Why does the guy do that?? I told the guy that I am getting off soon and then he said that he came forward because he want me to have a seat or something like that. Why does he do that? I have also met another guy before who just got up from his seat to let me have it and went to the front of the bus and stood there and talked with the bus driver.. Why do people do that? Do they think that woman shouldn't stand on the bus or that a guy should not let a woman stand on the bus or do I look weak ?? Where does that kind of thinking coming from?? What's so strange about standing on the bus?? Does anyone know?

Why do people think that a woman standing on the bus is not right?? So, you mean it's alright if a man is standing on the bus instead of a woman?? But, I used to live in other places and have stood on the buses frequently but noone has really offered me seats like that. Why is it that over here, more people tend to offer me seats?

So, does that mean I look like a lady enough for them to offer me seats? And if I don't look like a lady, they won't offer me seats?

Obviously, they were being courteous. You're lucky! Where I live, you can fall flat on your face and no one will give up their seat. One time I was standing on a bus where all the seats were occupied, most of them by men. When it was time for me to get off, I had to take a giant leap to get to the door because the bars that you hold onto are too high for me to reach. So I tripped when the bus jerked, and I landed right in some guy's lap! So what are you complaining about??

It is called being polite and having manners which there is little of today. If I see an elderly person, handicapped person, a lady pregnant or not I offer my seat to her. It is respectful to do that, do not think it is not. Wherever you were before there was not a good deal of manners if nobody offered their seat.

I always give my sit to a old person or a disabilited person, whoever needs it more than me, I give my sit to a standing lady because a lady standing on the bus is not right, I mean, there is a lot of "sick" people out there thinkin about "sick" stuff.

Maybe you're really funning looking or ugly and people take pity on you. It's like when you see a retard and you want to open the door for them. Or a midget at the bank is jumping trying to see the teller. Sometimes I'll see a cripple and feel real bad like.
