You should be conducting a self breast exam monthly. And having one done by your doc at your annual gyno exam. If you doc finds something, is concerned, or thinks you are any way at risk they can request a mammogram or an ultrasound or a biopsy. (your insurance will likely cover it if your doc orders it). Make sure next time you visit your doc you express your concerns and tell them everything you know about your mom and sisters issue. I had to have a lumpectomy at age 26, so you are never too young to have something happen with your breasts. Good luck.

I have had four fibroadnomas (spelled the wrong) removed 3 different surgeries. I am 25 and NEVER had a mammogram. At your age, your obgyn will probably do a ultrasound of your breast before mammogram. If that does not show what they need to see, then mammogran. i was supposed to have one with this last surgery but they saw what they neeed to with the u/s.

please talk to your dr. find out the correct way to do a breast self exam. if you find anything. tell dr. also make sure he/she knows your family history (mom and sister)

Now---should have a Mammogram every 2 years and a Pap Smear every 1 year-You are also at the age where you need a Gynecologist that you see on a regular basis -also important you have Mammograms done at the same place (as much as possible)so they can compare and catch and /or observe any changes from one to the next if any occur.
