umm did i do this one correct?
5a-(4a-3)=a+3?

No, it is not correct, it is a-3. You can remove the parenthesis because you are going left to right. So 5a- 4a =a and then you just put the -3 after that and that gives you a-3.

5a-(4a-3)=a+3
20a-3=a+3
20a-3+3=a+3+3
20a=a+6
20a=a+6-a
20a to the second=6
