she's spread at least one rumor about me and i've confronted her 4 times already but she keeps on denying that she ever did.

Just ignore it, and in time she will stop!!!! If not, go to a higher aurthority!!! Good Luck!

Then do the opposite.....spread the words that you missed her so much...& love to be her best friend again.She might realize that what she's doing is very wrong.
