yes!! but buy something that is like white, yellow, green, srtuff like that so its good no matter what sex it is! my recommendations would be: reciveing blankets, sleepers, towels, baby hygeiene products(shampoo, soaps, wipes, diapers),fill a diaper bag or a laundry basket with some stuff...or even a gift certificate would be good...make sure its for somewhere that sells lots of baby stuff though!!!... etc

That would be really nice to do. Better yet, get your friend something nice instead. Take her out to lunch and just sit and talk. When she's further along then get the baby something. Throw her a shower if you know all her friends. While you're there, talk about her and how things are. Just being there and being a friend will mean more than any gift.

Only if you want to. No one is making you do anything you don't want to do.

But then she'll probably be having a baby shower later on in her pregnancy, do you really want to be buying 2 gifts for her?

Do you like this friend or are you just trying to buy her friendship? Would you like us to tell you how much to spend too? Do you need help deciding which store to shop at and what to pick out for your friend too?

It's up to you. Do you think you'll get invited to a shower? If so, a gift is obligatory then, and a gift is usually given after the birth. At this point you might want to bring something small such as an infant toy--not too expensive. Nobody would expect you to buy something big at this point.

Assuming this is her first baby, someone will probably have a shower for her. If they dont have a shower later on, then it would be nice if you brought her something after the baby is born and you go for a visit. This way you can also get her something gender appropriate for the baby.

No, buy her something for her, as most people always focus on the baby rather than the mother. You will have plenty of time to buy something for the baby when it is born...

If you want to and find it appropriate. But if she's having a baby shower, then you could wait. It's all up to you.

I would, its always nice to give a gift. Unless you know what to she is having though, I would get something that doesnt have anything to do with gender.
