Basically same thing as everyday high school, except you have dance and formal pictures.

A Sadie Hawkins dance is where girls get to ask boys to a dance. They are in control. Go out there and get you a guy!

Sadie Hawkins dances are traditionally for the girls to ask the boys to an event or to dance with them. It reverses the usual form of " boy asking girls".
