PLEASE READ............I have mine done...got it pierced when i was 14...i am petrified of needles but seriously i didnt even feel it. the disinfectant spray stung a little..it takes a year to fully heal so dont change it till AFTER a year...take a dixie cup filled with water and add a teaspoon of epsom salt...hold the cup to your belly, move the ring around and do that a couple times daily...spray belly with bactine afterwards and so on during the day. also make sure you flick away the crusties DO NOT pick cut or pinch them which could cause a bad infection. if their is gooey stuff...take a bactined q-tip and simply wipe them away and re-clean. NEVER EVER USE POLYSPORIN...if the piercer suggest using polysporin or iodine to heal the wound he/she has no clue what theyre doing=MALPRACTICE...make sure your hands are washed EVERY time you touch your belly. also, wear low jeans so that nothing can rub and irritate your belly. and, in the case of an infection PLEASE READ CAREFULLY...DONT PANIC & DONT TAKE IT OUT...your belly is the dirtiest area on your bod & if removed during infection, your allowing nasty germs etc to internally enter your bod. 7 out of 10 belly piercings get infected cause of this. and it doesnt mean your dying, it means you need extra care for the infection...when i had mine done my old friend spilt pop right on my belly and it got infected for over 5 months. i realized i wasnt caring for it enough and i am A-ok...in the case of a foul smell and discharge other than whitish/green..go see a pharmacist...in the case of BUMPS at the wound or A RED LINE FROM YOUR BELLY TO YOUR RIB CAGE...go to a hospital immediately. those are sings of a severe infection that could need surgery and also could be fatal never ignore anything abnormal. also, make sure the piercer is using sterile fresh out of the package gloves, needle, clamp, and new belly ring. if you suspect that he isnt...dont be a wuss and tell him you want to watch him wash his hands, put brand new gloves on, get a packaged needle etc...because if you suspect nothing is sterile, think about yourself. your letting a stranger with dirty utensils dig into your stomach, yes that sounds gross so make sure everything is sterelized. one last thing...dont pay any more than 50 dollars and make sure your mom or someone older and closest to you is right by your side at all times. and to make things go fast...tell the piercer to give you no warning to when the needle goes threw and keep eyes closed. any questions feel free to add me to yahoo im always here to help anyone in need, just let me know...take care xoxo

Yes, it didn't hurt too much to get done, but it hurt a lot afterward. It took mine a looooonnggggg time to heal...like a year. The problem with mine was that the guy that did it used too short of a bar. After you get it pierced it swells up a little, so make sure that you have a longer than normal bar until the swelling goes down. I didn't know this, so I just used the normal bar he gave me, so when it started to swell, it hurt really bad b/c there was no where for the skin to go.

I had it done when I was a teenager. The pain wasn't all that bad but I do have an ugly scar from it. It also takes a while to heal and can easily get infected. In my opinion, you should google it and find out all the risks and side effects before doing it. Good luck!

That is one of the worst piercings I have had mine done andit hurts but you willl live...um what helped to speed up the healing process was to soak it in epsom salt and then apply the neosporing gel thing they give you. how you soak your belly is by getting a cup of warm water as warm as you can take it then put some epsom salt while standing bend over and put the cup on yoyr belly then stand back up go lay down with the cup there for a while like 5 min...then dress it with the cream. the cup will suction to your stomach. dont trip about spills

It hurts allot but the adrenaline kicks in and if they are really fast it's over with before you have a chance to feel it.

The biggest thing is it's hard to heal because it rubs up against your jeans waist or your t-shirt. So you have to be really careful to keep it from getting infected. MIne took 5-6 weeks to heal.

If it does get infected when they take it out it'll leave a scar.

I had it done twice (had to redo it after it got infected and I took it out for the night). The second time I used a barbell instead of a hoop and I didn't touch it as much so it healed nicely. It didn't hurt either time. Just keep your hands clean anytime you touch it.

The first few days it is quite sore, but when you get it done it doesn't really hurt, it's just a pinch and that's it. It takes like about 6 weeks to heal, and then it fine if you take care of it properly. It is fine after awhile, but if you want it just do it, it does get better.

Yes. It took about 6 weeks to heal. The first few days it's really tender. They tell you not to put stuff on it like neosporin. I used it any way and mine healed quickly.

I don't like naval piercings because everyonee has it and to me it looks a little trashy..I think it is more unique not to have it pierced these days! Well it is easy to get infected you really have to take care of it and clean it out everyday..but piercings and tattoos are up to you it's a representation of who you are so if you want it go for it girl.
