You ask the guy out. Pick out the shirts and buy them, buy dinner, drive to the dance, pay for pictures, pay for whatever you do after the dance. So I guess you could say you pay for it all.

Well at my old high school, we called it the backwards dance. The only thing I now of that distinguished it from other dances is that, as you said, the girls ask the guys, and they wore matching clothes.

Its generally not formal, just jeans, umm you and ur date should wear the same shirt, umm, not much else.
