I am very sorry to say that there is no way to induce your own labor. I have 4 children, they were all born after their due dates, #1 by 9 days, #2 by 11 days, #3 by 5 days, and #4 by 7 days. You are not even at 40 weeks yet, but I understand the desire to be done with being pregnant. I walked miles, had lots of sex, drove down many bumpy back roads, scrubbed kitchen and bathroom floors on my hands and knees, and ate spicy food. The only thing I got was sore leg muscles, a happy husband, a filthy car, sparkling floors, and heartburn for my trouble. No labor and no baby before it was time. If wishes and desire made it true, they would have all been born at 38 weeks, but it didn't happen for me. I ended up going into labor at the most unexpected times with all 4.

Do not rush that baby. He will come out when he is ready and not a moment sooner. The good part about this little lesson is you now have an idea of waiting. You will be waiting the first year he is born for him to walk and talk. Then the next 18 years you will be waiting for him to shut up and sit down. Really, take this time to enjoy yourself cause you will soon be very busy! One thing though...you will never know joy as much as you do when you become a mom. Enjoy the little blessing when he gets here but in the meantime rest. Good luck and congrats!

Sex does work. Not the sex but the male fluid releases a chemical reaction that will induce labor sometimes if you are far enough along.
Tell him to be nice and just get the business done. No rough pumping. Maybe you could help him and then when just about done then let him release it in you.
It worked for us. He was born about 14 hours later. Labor started 6 hours afterwards.

You dont want to induce labor. The labor resulting from inducing can be much worse than the normal labor. Voice of experience.

you can't. everything you have heard about are old wives tales. sex doesn't even help. yes, semen contain a chemical that it used to induce labor. but the amount is so small that it really isn't worth the effort. it's only 2 more weeks and trust me, once they get here you'll wish they were back in for a few more weeks.

Home inductions can do more harm than good. Wouldn't you feel guilty if you gave birth and found out the lungs were under developed because you were impatient?
I've had 6 kids and waiting is very hard those last few weeks, but they will come out when they are ready!

try going for a car ride down a bumpy road.
If she doesn't want to come out yet, she won't no matter what you do. I went 10 days over due and I tried walking, sex, car ride, nothing worked!
Good luck!!

nipple stimulation. I think my baby's were probably ready to come out...BUT nipple stimulation (gently rubbing you're nipples and areola) does bring contractions. Whether these contractions turn into true labor is different for every women. In my case, it worked four times!
