Haha! I've noticed that too! But I've also noticed a few commercials with a black man and asian woman, or cool white man w/Asian woman! Commercials try to appeal to a certain demographic, so go figure!

I don't think that most of America (since most of America is white) is ready to handle seeing black people all over their t.v. I'm white and the first time I ever watched BET I thought it was weird that there were so many commercials out there with mostly black people in them, and I never seen any of them before. I think it would be a good thing if one day CBS or FOX, all of a sudden started playing nothing but commercials with black people in them. So people like me would realize that if the shoe was on the other foot, this is how the world would appear to us. To really drive the message deep, it would be interesting to see symbols of the United States as black people. Like a black Statue of Liberty, or a black Mount Rushmore on television. Us white people still don't see the lopsidedness of our country, and we need to be shown. As far as never using mixed couples, the people down south would die of a heart attack and that'll be one less customer for the commercial's company.

In 1978, Jesse Jackson created the rules for what types of black people can be used in commercials.

they use people of all different races so that everyone thinks the product would be acceptable or whateveer for them to have. Plus, why not have both, instead of just one of the two. I dont think there are too many mixed couples, are there?

Because they are striving to make big bucks and "not offend" your typical Joe six pack, Walmart American. He or she has a high school education and a bunch of unsubstantiated beliefs about everything from religion and politics to the equality of the human race.
