muscles in their body contract causing them to curl up. it's kinda like rigom mortis. then they dry up and stay that way.

I think spiders in a natural, relaxed-state, are folded up in a little ball. They use little muscles when they walk and move and have their legs out. When they die, they no longer use their muscles, and they fold up in a ball. It's kind of an implosion, of sorts.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the last thought you had before you died was about spiders - and then you just sort of folded up? Remember, spiders are "people" too!

Its only normal, they just simply contract when there is no more life in them.
