You're not legally divorced until you file for divorce. If you never file for divorce then you're still married even if you live apart for 30 years, if you haven't filled out the forms you're still married technically

That's not how it works.

A divorce only happens when a petition for divorce is filed with the court, and and the court grants the divorce. Now, a divorce can be granted (in most states) on grounds of abandonment, such as being separated for a certain number of years.

But the separation itself does not become a divorce automatically. For the divorce to count, it must be approved by the court.

You;re not legally divorced until you get a legal divorce regardless of how many years you have been seperated it could be 20 yrs. form now without a legal divorce you are still married,.

You are not legally divorced until you obtain a divorce from the courts. It doesn't matter how long you are separated.

Doesn't work that way. If you are legally married, you must go through the legal divorce procedure.

u can be separated forever, but you actually have to sign those ugly divorce papers before u r ACTUALLY divorced
